Book Review: Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
Published by Simon and Schuster
This is the first time I have featured a book review in a Newsletter, but this book really compelled me to tell you all about it.
The book was recommended and then lent to me by a close friend who after reading the book had attended a one day seminar by Dr Brian Weiss. She herself had read the book after the tragic death of her husband a year ago and she knew of my belief in re-incarnation.
At a time of immense grief and loss after his death, I spoke to her about my own undeniable belief in past lives, having witnessed many instances in my Kinesiology clinic of proof that we do indeed come back to fulfil our Karmic journey after we leave this body. I hasten to add that I did not always believe this, it was only when I first studied Holistic Kinesiology that I knew in my heart there was no other explanation for some of the phenomena that we encounter.
Dr Brian Weiss is an extremely scientifically educated and highly regarded psychiatrist who was once himself a sceptic about anything unproven by science.
I found the book hard to put down as it writes about the relationship between Brian the psychiatrist, and one of his patients who used to suffer from deep seated fears, phobias, anxiety and depression.
Through clinical hypnosis it became apparent that this patient was able to recall many past lives and reach the area of distress in a past life that was causing patterns of distress in this life. Dr Brian Weiss documents many of these sessions with the patient in the book and her subsequent healing and transformation to inner peace, calm and lightness of being.
One of the most interesting observations and teachings that Dr Brian Weiss gained from these sessions is that between lives in the hypnotic state, his patient was a conduit to spiritual masters in higher planes and they had lessons that they wished to convey to Dr Brian Weiss. The masters were very clear that were appearing to help and teach him and not his patient. The gift is in the helping of others was a clear message. It was important to reach out to people whose vibrations were not the same as ours and to help other people outside our sphere of resonance.
Dr Brian Weiss knew it was his duty to pass them onto the others.
I would like to summarise his passed on teachings as I resonate a great deal with the message to all of humankind. In his ‘afterword’ at the back of the book, he paraphrases the mystic Teilhard de Chardin:
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
He summarises that we are souls and are eternal, with our bodies being only temporary. We do not die but we transform. We are always loved and never alone and we can never truly be harmed.
Earth is a school and we have many lessons to learn – we need to understand fully: compassion, love, non-violence, non-judgment, non-prejudice, patience, generosity, charity and hope. It is important for us to transcend past the deceptions of our ego and we must become aware of interconnectedness of ALL living beings. Indeed energy connects us all and that there is no death, only life.
We do not need to master all of the lessons in one lifetime as we can reincarnate into many physical bodies as often as we need to in order for us to understand and master all these lessons and we must learn from all sides – rich, poor, all races, privileged and deprived, strong and weak. We return to repay debts owed to others (we might even get to choose what it is we wish to learn in the new lifetime) and to transcend to greater understanding and the importance of the balance of nature.
We all have soul mates and these are souls with whom we have been reincarnated regularly. These souls’ can take many forms and are more commonly not romantic. We are always being reunited with them here on earth or on the other side (including 7 astral planes, each consisting of many levels) and other dimensions.
Dr Brian Weiss’s final message is for us to: embrace fully the true meaning of life to set us free to live our life to the fullest, to seek inner peace and harmony and to reach out and help our fellow humans.

If you still remain a sceptic, I urge you to read it.

keep an open mind and read it simply for food for thought.

75% of the western world population are chronically dehydrated.

In 37% of these, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as 3%.

One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

Lack of water, is the main trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, can reduce the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

Fizzy Drink Coca Cola – Facts

In many USA states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days. It will dissolve a nail in about four days.

To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the ‘real thing’ sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

To remove grease from clothes you can empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a cycle.

The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid which leaches calcium from bones and is a contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

Would you like a glass of water or a Coca Cola?

My daughter recently started high school and the school held a “Making New Friends” talk with the new students in their first week.

Some of the advice can be applied to all of us in any new environment and so I thought it was worthwhile sharing the tips with you:

Remember that though meeting new friends may be scary, it is a very normal part of life.

It will require some effort but it will be worth it in the end.

It is important to have friends that we connect with, respect and are respected by.

Seek out friends that share values and interests.

We should always feel safe with friends.

Real friends accept differences of culture and appearances.

A good way to get to know someone better is start a conversation about a common interest.

Stay positive as people are attracted to positive people.

Don’t be tempted to share too much too soon as you need to get to know the person first.

Avoid bossy, gossipy, controlling people and especially those who are mean to others.

It is normal for even the best of friends to go through a bumpy or challenging time.

When a friendship ends it is sad but in the long term it means that the “genuine like” is no longer aligned. Choose friends that really value the real you.

Everything in our Universe has a sound and each sound vibrates at a specific frequency.

Our bodies are energy and also have specific frequencies …. our heart beat, brain waves and breathing.

As the whole universe is made up of varying vibrational energies of varying frequencies, our bodies can

easily be affected physically and emotionally.

Therefore our aim is to manifest a body that resonates with heath and emotional well-being by exposing it

to positive healing frequencies.

For example, the brain has 4 different types of brain wave: Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta.

Beta is the alert state, Alpha is the relaxed state, Theta is the drowsy state and Delta is the healing/regeneration state.

Singing and Crystal bowls, Chimes, Ting Shas and pure natural sound signals can take the brain to the Delta healing/regeneration state.

After a sound balance, you can feel like you have had a relaxed, regenerative night’s sleep.

Your immune system feels stronger and you feel more balanced and your busy mind dialogue has slowed down.

The Chakra and Nadi system (etheric energy centres) are profoundly affected by sound.

They affect the way we feel and translate the world around us.

Ethereal energy is able to flow through the Nadis which are akin to non physical acupuncture points.

Specific organs such as the Heart and Liver can choose to draw in healing sound to transform and dissolve emotions that are held there.

Pure sound created with healing intent can purify the aura and cleanse you of negative energies.

If you would like to experience this state of wellbeing and balance, why don’t you book a Sound Balance.

Xanthe Pearson, Jaye Roberts and Judy Kater do sound balancing in the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney.

I would like to thank my colleagues Jaye Roberts and Judy Kater – by receiving healing from them over the years, I have been able to enhance my sound techniques.

I would also like to thank Elvina Munir for her amazing Chakra Chimes that enhance my clinic and Kinesiology.

A very helpful counsellor introduced me to these:

They are designed to assist with your quality of life and empower you to open up to possibilities for real growth and change.

1. What can I learn from this?
Do not give into self pity or powerlessness when facing a difficulty.

2. What can I do today to grow bigger within myself?
Small improvements daily can add up to make changes in your life over time.

3. What should I stop doing today?
Just for today, what bad habit can you resist succumbing to?

4. What kind of impact do I want to make today?
You can choose to leave a lasting impression on others.

5. What am I grateful for today?
Let go of focusing on what you lack and be grateful for what you have.

6. How will I measure success today?
Set only achievable goals so that you do not set yourself up for failure.

7. How do I choose to feel today?
Take back control over your feelings and do not let external circumstances determine how you feel.

Too many choices? Feeling overwhelmed by the decisions required?

Here are 5 ways that you can minimise this stress:

1. Do the maths if you can’t make up your mind
Reject the 1st 33% of possibilities if you have a lot of options open to you and choose the next option on the list.
Or cap the number of items you are willing to look at.

2. Pass the decision making on
Ask your friend, colleague or partner: “I don’t know, what do you want to do?
Or you can offer suggestions and let the other person choose a few of those leaving you to pick the final one.

3. Satisfaction
What will sufficiently satisfy you?

4. Get perspective
Ask yourself what the consequences will be in 10 minutes, 10 months ad 10 years (for example a big life decision as to which suburb you want to live in).

5. Visit a Kinesiologist. See www.equiessence.com

Haemoglobin is needed by our body to carry oxygen to where it is needed. Here are 5 ways to raise your levels:

• Yellow dock root (Rumex crispus). This is a wonderful herb that can easily be added to your diet – cook with it or add it to your diet. Making an infusion is easy, too – just add two teaspoons of the dried herb to 2-3 cups of water and let steep. You can add other herbs, for example liquorice to give flavour.

• Liquid chlorophyll. It has a molecular structure similar to haemoglobin, except for the center atom. Liquid chlorophyll is extracted from plants, so you’re already getting chlorophyll when you eat your greens. However, you may prefer to supplement with liquid chlorophyll drops and add them to drinks.

• Blackstrap molasses. Pregnant women report this to be useful as it’s high in iron. Here is a wonderful recipe using blackstrap molasses. Be careful to choose blackstrap – ordinary molasses will not do. This is not recommended for diabetics.

• Nettle (Urtica dioica). Consistently making a nettle infusion can help to raise haemoglobin in the blood. The infusion should consist of dried nettle leaves – use about 1 ounce per 4-5 cups of water and let steep for several hours. Do this weekly. Consistency is the key.

• Carao. It assists the body to generate haemoglobin.

Book Review: Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian L. Weiss, M.D. - published by Simon and Schuster

This is the first time I have featured a book review in a Newsletter, but this book really compelled me to tell you all about it.

The book was recommended and then lent to me by a close friend who after reading the book had attended a one day seminar by Dr Brian Weiss. She herself had read the book after the tragic death of her husband less than a year ago and she knew of my belief in re-incarnation.
